Your Right to Delete Your Data
At SendMeBox, we respect your privacy and provide you with control over your personal data. This policy explains how you can request deletion of your data and what happens when you make such a request.
How to Request Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your data in two ways:
Option 1: Self-Service (Recommended)
- Log into your SendMeBox account
- Navigate to your Profile or Account Settings
- Click on “Delete My Account” button
- Confirm your decision when prompted
Option 2: Email Request
Send an email to nick@sendmebox.com with:
- Subject line: “Data Deletion Request”
- Your account email address
- Your full name
What Data Will Be Deleted
When you request data deletion, we will permanently remove:
- Your account information (name, email address)
- Your shipping addresses
- Your order history and bid records
- Your communication preferences
- Any saved payment methods (already secured by Stripe)
- Your account activity logs
Data We May Retain
For legal and business purposes, we may retain certain anonymized or aggregated data:
- Transaction Records: Anonymized records for tax and accounting purposes (7 years)
- Legal Obligations: Data required by law enforcement or legal proceedings
- Fraud Prevention: Hashed identifiers to prevent fraudulent activity
- Aggregated Analytics: Non-identifiable usage statistics
This retained data cannot be used to identify you personally.
Deletion Timeline
Processing Time: We will process your deletion request within 30 days of receipt. You will receive:
- An immediate confirmation that we received your request
- A final confirmation once deletion is complete
Before You Delete Your Account
Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Once deleted:
- You will lose access to your order history
- Any pending bids will be cancelled
- You cannot recover your account
- You will need to create a new account to use SendMeBox again
Download Your Data
Before deleting your account, you may want to download a copy of your data. You can request this by emailing nick@sendmebox.com with the subject “Data Export Request”. We will provide your data in a common format (JSON or CSV) within 30 days.
Third-Party Services
Please note that data deletion from SendMeBox does not automatically delete your data from:
- Stripe: Payment information is managed by Stripe. Visit Stripe's privacy policy for their data deletion process
- Shipping Carriers: Any tracking information shared with shipping companies
